Brighter Futures’ £2.9mill radiotherapy appeal goal met
After 4 years of raising money for the NHS cancer treatment centre, the charity have now met their fundraising target
In 2014 the Weir Farm community started raising money for the charity for Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Brighter Futures. The charity needed to raise £2.9 million to buy the key clinical equipment needed to treat local cancer patients at the Great Western’s new radiotherapy centre.
After losing his own wife to breast cancer, farmer James Hussey joined forces with the charity, and through our regular 10k Trail Runs around the farm, hosting fundraising dinners and auctions, and even donating funds from crop circle visitors, together we’ve raised over £33,000 for the appeal.
So we’re delighted that Brighter Futures has now met its fundraising target. And we’ll see you at the next 10k run!
